You might have read the heading and chuckled to yourself, but it really is possible to get your beauty treatments on a budget! As a salon owner of 8 years and a beauty treatment junkie, I myself try to get any treatments that I don’t offer in my own salon at the best price possible.

It doesn’t mean you have to be sleazy about it and ask for a discount, it does mean you have to be creative and think about what is mutually beneficial for both you and the salon.

So, visit a few salons in your area and try them out, when you find a few that you like and think you may want to re-visit then follow my fool-proof method below and get your beauty treatments on a budget!

1. Be generous with your information

The first trick is you must be willing to tick that little box that says you are happy to receive marketing from these businesses. Get added to their mailing list so you get the deals when people cancel at the last minute – you may not always be able to take it but it sure is handy to know when these come up and it could mean you save 100s of dollars over the course of the year.

2. Be active on your socials

Secondly, you must follow salons in your area on social media and click the 3 buttons on the top of their Instagram or Facebook pages to get notifications from them so you are the first to see any deals they may post. By following them on social media, you will be able to see the deals on offer for the month and some salons will also post last minute cancellations for you to take advantage of. If you are happy to take last minute cancellations, then you can almost guarantee you will get 10% or more off just by filling their cancellation list!!

3. Never be afraid to ask

Sometimes, if you have used a service before and you liked it, you could reach out to the salon and ask them if you brought a friend along would they offer you something. It means that the salon gains a client, and they may just offer you a complimentary product or service or even a discount off your treatment for referring your friend. Your friend would have to book and pay for her treatment for this to happen though, so make sure you play fair.

4. Tell others

Salons also love repeat business and love to see clients coming back each month, you might be able to set up a weekly payment plan and lock in a price for the year for each visit regardless of price increases later on in the year. It pays to have this conversation with the manager or owner of the business to get the ball rolling and yes you can get further discounts if you refer friends to do the same!

5. Leave honestly good reviews

Blast your facial results and your honest review of the business on your socials and tag them on it, they will love you for it and often will offer you something the next time you come in. You never have to ask with this strategy, most salons love free advertising and if they are a well-run salon, they will recognise your efforts and reward you for it the best way they can.
